Why Would You Think This Was Cool?

Wow! Do the owners of this kitchen just love bunt pans so much that they wanted everyone to see how much they love them? Or were they all gifts they couldn't part with? Better yet did they not have ANY art work that was better that they just HAD to put these on the walls? I mean seriously! This is not the cool vintage that is so popular these days. I could think of a hundred other ways to make this wall interesting and cool. Anyway next week I'm doing a post on cool ways to do wall collages, this is just a preview of what NOT to do.

Oh and this one is an example of too much but I at least its not hangers all over the walls!

Life

Romantic Baroque

Isn't this bed beautiful? I love the baroque detail and the simple color palette. The dark wall draws attention to the bed and long mirror opens up the space and reflects the light. What a relaxing romantic space to come home to.

Lovely Emblishments

I think these rub-on transfer decals, from American Craft, you can put on anything, but I like them on these wine glasses I think they would make my yummy fruit concoctions even yummier! This table just jumps with personality.

I want to be able to drink out of these cool food/water bowls! But I will just have to settle for watching my dogs drink from them. They are a little pricey (and now I can't find where I saw it at), maybe I can make them myself! Plywood is pretty easy to bend right?

I love this aqua color, in fact last week I painted my future office this exact color, then I saw this mirror and loved it combined with the pink.

I want to learn how to do cake decorating but I'm afraid my creations won't look anything like what inspires me. And anyway how does one learn how to decorate a cake?

I love abstract designs. This cream and deep lavendar rugs has an organic leaf-like design.

Larger Than Life

I teach my students about scale and proportion and I think maybe this vase with the bamboo sticks is just a little large for the space. I like that it definitely makes a huge statement and I like the green color, but wow, it really is huge.

Light and Bright

I love huge windows. I love how they let the outdoors in and how a space just feels so much bigger and brighter with lots of natural light. Now that being said I live in region of the country that makes that really really impractical. Our winters are too cold and long to make huge windows very economical, but I think when I build my dream house (if it happens to still be in Utah) I will forget practicality and go for the breathtaking view and the feeling freedom and the ability to experience the weather from my cozy spot on my sofa.

Brocade Home

I discovered Brocade Home by accident one day! I love how they combine simply and clean with classic, curvy, romantic and flirty. This company has vintage inspired furniture that was created to jazz-up cold, hard edged modern interiors.

I believe this furniture line was intended to capture mid-thirty's women design style. Now being a single girl (but NOT in my thirty's, yet) I can see how this style is captivating. I don't think I would fill my whole house with Brocade Home (thus scaring off any male suitors), but I love the idea of a few pieces here and there- a surprise of sorts to make me smile and indulge in my love of whimsy. Mixing classic and modern is always such a perfect blend of old and new and simple and complex.

I love scrolls and swirls and curves.

Chandeliers can make any space feel more desirable.

I love the black and white contrast.

I want this bookcase! No wait, I NEED this bookcase!

Just a little whimsy and a little silver and whoolla- you have an amazing end table.
