Make a Statment

The door to our homes can say a lot about us. Whether you want to make a strong, loud emphasis or quiet, sophisticated statement make sure you give your door the proper attention it needs. I love each of the following examples for very different reasons. Bold and a colorful punch Simple and stately, beautiful flowering trees
Traditional and powerful Bold and strong
Bright and different
Be different, dare to try something new, a fresh new coat of paint on your door might just be the perfect solution to give your house some pizazz and flair!

Pretty Much Super Exciting News

Well for me anyway!!! Sometimes something so wonderful happens that you think your stars must be aligning just right and the universe loves you! No I didn't win a million dollars or find my own McDreamy but I did find something pretty lose to that!
Okay maybe this isn't THAT big but I am pretty excited about the new Cheerios Snack Mix! I love cereal! But more importantly I love Corn Chex and Cheerios. I buy Chex Mix just to pick out the corn chex pieces and give the rest of the bag to someone else. I love eating a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And now I can snack on my 2 favorite cereals at once! It's just divine. I'm pretty much planning on this snack getting me through the dark dismal February days we have here in Northern Utah. P.S. did you know you can order cereal and other such snacks from amazon.com? I thought that was pretty fun.

The Artistic Side of Me

A few years ago I started dabbling in acrylic paints. Now I have never taken a professional lessons in painting I just taught myself. Some of my creations have been a little scary but I love mixing colors and see what I can create. During the holidays I got this great idea to make a few painting. I think it was funner because I had a specific person in mind and I painted with love. I'm definitely going to keep working at my painting skills although I think I need to branch out from calla lilies.
My first attempt at calla lilies, my favorite flowers. I like the Van Gogh feel.
I painted this for my roommate for Christmas. I won't lie I have thought about stealing it back.

I painted this picture of the Logan Temple for my parents for Christmas.

More Good Things

I have to say that my little sister is another on e of my favorite things!! We are 15 years apart but we are best friends. When we have a bad day we always call the other one and we love to spend time together. Whether it is taking the dogs for a walk, shopping or just vegging out in front of the TV we really enjoy spending time together. She is the greatest sister a girl could ask for!!! On our way to our shared Birthday dinner with our parents in August.
Getting a little photo happy out on a Sunday walk with the dogs.Four wheeling up at the family cabin.

Me Crafty? Not So Much!

So I'm not really into crafts. I always tell people I'm artistic not crafty. I think the main reason for this is that I always envision it looking so much better then it turns out even though everyone else loves it, it doesn't turn out good enough for me. But I saw this wreath and thought I could try this, this one time. And I figured if it didn't turn out great I would give it as a Christmas present (evil huh). I wanted lime green and red.
Here is the final product! And as you can see it passed my critical critique and is hanging in my living room. Yay for my holiday craftiness

My Dogs

Remember how the theme of my posts recently has been on simplifying? I have also been focusing on filling my life with good things. Things that bring me happiness. Well 2 of my favorite things in the whole world are my 2 dogs. Copper and Deja (like Deja Vu). So I download so fun pictures of them from my phone. I know that no one else will think they are as adorable and wonderful as I do but you have to admit that they are stinking cute. And they are as loveable and sweet as they look. If you are wondering they are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I'm really grateful for these 2 little loves in my life. They bring lots of happiness to my life.
On our favorite trail, they love the snow!!!
They love getting out and going for adventures.
Spending some quality time with me at work.
Worn out from all the Christmas excitement and fun.
Do you get the idea that they LOVE to be with me! And the closer the better sometimes, lol.
Trying out my new duvet cover.
Sweet Deja in her new sweater.
If you are wondering they are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Also if you happen to be looking for a breed for your family these dogs are so sweet, happy, good with kids and supply unlimited amounts of love!!!

Bedtime

I love this bed! The sleek lines and dark gray color. You can keep it very modern or cozy it up a bit with some sheer fabric around the top. Very nice.

How fun with this sofa be in my house?? I don't think I could really pull it off but I love how bold and alive and bright it makes this room. Combining it with the purple, its compliment color, further adds to its appeal.

White can be Enough

I think sometimes we don't give white enough credit. It's probably because we see it so much and there are a lot of boring white interiors, so we tend to think it's boring or undecorated. But this room proves that white can be lovely. I love how the white is so bright and fresh, the light gray walls and silver leafed cabinets, the black and white photos and the dark woods. Also fresh flowers and a little greenery always, always liven up a space.
