A Note on Love
"To love someone is to be the only one to see a miracle invisible to others"
-Francois Mauriac
A sweet guy wrote this in a note to me recently. And the more I expereince love the more I believe it to be true. I feel very lucky and excited to be able to keep experiencing this miracle every day! (yes I know a little cheesy an a little love struck but really can you blame me??)

Big News
I'm Engaged!!!
So I haven't chatted much about this amazing guy in my life, but his name is Kolbe. And he has swept me off my feet (I know cheesy but that's okay). I met him the night before I went on my singles cruise. He was a friend of a friend. We got to chatting and had fun and when I got back from the cruise we became friends on facebook and chatted every day. He flew out to see me the next weekend and we've taken turns flying back and forth between Utah and San Diego every other week since then.
This last week Kolbe's dad, stepmom and little sister were in Logan and I met them. A few nights later they wanted to get together for dinner. We decided I would meet them at their hotel room and when I knocked on their door Kolbe answered the door! He had flown in and surprised me and then asked me to marry him. It was a perfect engagement and we spent the rest of the weekend spending time with family and making wedding plans. We are getting married August 27th in Logan, Utah. I'm so excited and happy that I have found an amazing guy to spend the rest of my life with!Me and Kolbe out on a motorcycle ride
A Little Gardening Time
I got my flower bed planted, quite awhile ago, so I figured I would show some pictures. It looks different now, maybe I will have to take a current one to show how everything has grown and all the fun colors. I just wish the Utah heat wasn't so rough on it.
I have really enjoyed having these potted plants on the steps. I planted a tomato plant and a cucumber plant in 2 of these, yum!

A Walking Adventure
What do you do when you have 2 kids, 2 dogs and you want to go on a walk?
Deja decided a few blocks in that she was done with the walk so I put her in this cool little spot, it worked quite well.

Make Everything Beautiful
"I am going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life."
- Elsie de Wolfe
Elsi de Wolfe is considered the first professional interior designer in America. She developed her own distinct style which was elegant and practical. She swept out the Victorian era clutter and replaced it with bright colors, fresh paint, a little French inspired elegance. She says she, "opened the doors and windows of America and let the air and the sunshine in."
She was a trend setter and inventor and even a revolutionary, she started a way of looking at life that has expounded and continues into the present. Although she died 60 years ago she left a legacy that continues to inspire and a view of design that revolves around a lifestyle.

A Blue Floor
What do you think about this shiny aqua blue floor? I think it works, I'm not saying I would do it in my house, but I think the white furniture lends the design to have a dramatic punch of color and why not make that punch on the floor! It definitely isn't something that is overly used and design exhausted. If you can pull this off I say go for it.

Movie Houses
Do you ever pay attention to the interior of houses when you watch a movie? Well I do. The new Sex and the City 2 is out and I went to it a few weeks ago (opening night I think). While the outfits weren't exactly "me" I did love the interior of Mr. Big and Carrie's newly remodeled abode. You can't see too easily from this picture but the tiles on the backsplash in the kitchen caught my eye every time. And I loved the fabric on the dining room chairs and the hanging light pendant. The whole house had a fun modern comfortable vibe.
I love the pattern on the headboard. And all the neutrals give the room a good cozy romantic feel.

English Cottage Delight
A nice neutral palette and warm warm woods are inviting and homey. The unique shaped mirror that draws a focal point to the fireplace, and the large floor to ceiling windows draw in light and give the feeling of space and openness. I love how the wrought iron brings a lighter more delicate feel to the space. The gambrel ceiling with its planks is a fun architectural detail that gives warmth and tradition to the space.
